Baseline Fonts

At Baseline Fonts, we are always working on many new typefaces.

The one depicted here is a commercial release transitioned from a national campaign typeface we developed in 2008.

Baseline Fonts (http://baselinefonts.com) is commited to the design community. With the introduction of :Launch, the latest version of the fondry portal, our goal is to collaborate with the design community. We like hearing from the people we serve - fron requests to any issues or questions designers have regarding fonts.

The typography of Baseline Fonts Design and Type Co. is always evolving, and we encourage you the designer to contact us. Sign up for our email newsletters, contribute news, collaborate with us on type-we really are all ears.

Nathan Williams | Principal
Nathan Williams, founder of Baseline fonts, spent most of his time at the University of Kansas Art Museum Library and Print Research Department.

Nathan was consistently a miserable student, but a quick study at printing methods, graphic design and reverse-engineering of undocumented printing methods. While attending the University, he developed an affinity for typography and began creating fonts from historic samples in 1995.

Brian Miller | Type Aficionado & Designer
Brian Miller is Vice President of Gardner Design and a type aficionado. Brian's work appears on packages and in print all over the planet. Brian Miller designed Country Fang, one of the Baseline Fonts fonts and has also provided an endless source of enthusiasm, feedback and testing for numerous typefaces over the years.

James Kandt | Legendary Art Director and Contributor
James Kandt founded the art department of Sullivan Higdon and Sink, now one of the largest advertising agencies in Kansas and Missouri. James illustrated Kandt Headline and Text. http://www.jameskandt.com/

Baseline is an imaginary line or standard by which things are measured or compared. In typographic terms, it refers to the lowest point on the common axis where the characters rest. The goal of the foundry is to provide uninterpreted revivals of type samples generated through disappearing printing methods, and create new fonts for dissemination in the type community.
